Bleeding Complications After Breast Core-needle Biopsy—An Approach to Managing Patients on Antithrombotic Therapy

چکیده
Abstract Image-guided core-needle breast and axillary biopsy (CNB) is the standard-of-care procedure for diagnosis of cancer. Although risks CNB are low, most common complications include bleeding hematoma formation. Post-procedural particular concern in patients taking antithrombotic therapy, but there currently no widely established standard protocol United States to guide therapy management. In face an increasing number with advent novel classes anticoagulants, American College Radiology guidelines recommend that radiologists consider cessation prior on a case-by-case basis. Lack consensus results disparate approaches undergoing CNB. There further heterogeneity recommendations based modality used image-guided biopsy, target location, simultaneous biopsies, type agent. A review available data demonstrates safety continuing during while highlighting additional procedural lesion factors may increase risk bleeding. Risk stratification interventional procedures proposed both pre-procedural decision-making post-procedural Radiologists should be aware agent pharmacokinetics strategies minimize safely manage patients.

متن کاملBleeding risk of endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration in patients undergoing antithrombotic therapy.
OBJECTIVES Bleeding events related to endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) are rare. However, for patients treated with antithrombotic agents, the bleeding risk of EUS-FNA is uncertain. Hence, the aim of this study was to assess the bleeding event rate associated with EUS-FNA in patients receiving antithrombotic treatment. METHODS A retrospective study was conducted i...

INTRODUCTION Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) - aspirin and clopidogrel - is recommended after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) without an evidence base. The main aim of the study was to estimate the impact of antithrombotic therapy on early and late bleeding. Moreover, we assessed the impact of patients' characteristics on early bleeding and the influence of bleeding on prognosis...

OBJECTIVES To monitor the different antithrombotic drug combinations, determine the incidence, magnitude of bleeding and the association of HAS-BLED risk scoring schema with the magnitude of bleeding as defined using TIMI bleeding criteria. METHODS A prospective observational study in a cohort of patients for a period of 8 months, at one of the tertiary care center-Krishna Institute of Medica...

AIM To investigated the relationship between postoperative bleeding following gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and individual antithrombotic agents. METHODS A total of 2488 gastric neoplasms in 2148 consecutive patients treated between May 2001 and June 2016 were studied. The antithrombotic agents were categorized into antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, and other antithromboti...
